Urban Arts Residency Program.
Germany's first residency program for urban arts will start this August in the Ruhr metropolis. The program is conceived and organised by Pottporus e.V. in Herne.
Pottporus e.V. stands for the further development, professionalization and promotion of hip hop and street art culture in the Ruhr metropolis. The association presents urban arts in all its forms of expression - and awards two 2-4-week residencies to urban artists, dancers, choreographers or collectives (max. 4 people). Research and work will take place is the production facility for urban arts in the Flottmann-Hallen Herne.
The residencies are aimed at professional artists, dancers, choreographers and collectives in the field of urban arts who live and work in Germany. The research-oriented residencies focus on the practical implementation of artistic ideas with choreographic and visual means.
• Use of the rehearsal space for Urban Arts in the residence period on weekdays from 10:00 – 17:00 o’clock
• Final presentation / Exhibition
• Mentoring by Prof. Malou Airaudo and Zekai Fenerci (artistic directors Renegade-Compagnie)
• per diems; if necessary accommodation / travel and travel expenses by arrangement
• Public Relations
Residence 1: 24.08. – 23.09.2020
Residence 2: 09.11. – 11.12.2020

The selection is made by Prof. Malou Airaudo (Artistic Director Renegade), Zekai Fenerci (Artistic Director Pottporus e.V. / Renegade) and Anna-Lena Werner (Production Manager Renegade). The residencies will be announced at June 30 2020.
The residency program is funded by the Ministry of Culture and Science of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia and the city of Herne.
